This Privacy Policy explains how XFishery (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and Android application.

1) Scope

This Policy applies to:

  • Our website and web dashboard available at https://app.xfishery.com
  • The XFishery Android app, which may load the web dashboard inside a WebView and may send notifications (push and local reminders)

2) Information We Collect

A. Account & profile information

  • Name, email address, phone number (if provided)
  • Role and account status (e.g., farmer/admin/ngo, approval status)
  • Location details (district/upazila/village) if you submit them

B. Farm and operational data you provide

  • Pond information (size, depth, feeding schedule, equipment metadata)
  • Fish stock data (species, count, average weight)
  • Device linking details (device codes/labels), schedules, and usage-related settings

C. Device & app data (Android)

  • Push notification token (FCM token) to deliver notifications to your device
  • Basic app/device information for reliability and troubleshooting (e.g., app version, device model), if available in logs/analytics you enable

D. Automatically collected data

  • IP address, browser type, and basic access logs (for security and performance)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (for login/session and preferences)

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometrics, or government IDs) through the app.

3) How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and keep you logged in
  • Provide the dashboard features (pond metrics, device management, schedules, and reports)
  • Send notifications and reminders (e.g., feeding reminders, aerator suggestions, system alerts)
  • Improve reliability, security, and performance; prevent fraud and unauthorized access
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests

4) Notifications

The Android app may send:

  • Push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
  • Local notifications scheduled on your device (offline reminders)

You can disable notifications anytime in your device settings. Disabling notifications may reduce the usefulness of reminders and alerts.

5) Sharing & Disclosure

We may share information only in these cases:

  • Service providers that help us operate the platform (e.g., hosting, databases, Firebase for push notifications)
  • Legal obligations if required to comply with law, regulations, or valid legal requests
  • Security to protect our users, our platform, or the public

We do not sell your personal information.

6) Data Retention

We retain information as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account data (see Contact).

7) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8) Your Choices & Rights

  • Access/update your account information via the dashboard (where available)
  • Request correction or deletion by contacting us
  • Control cookies via browser settings
  • Disable notifications through Android device settings

9) Children’s Privacy

XFishery is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date at the top of this page.
